What it does
The World Map Quiz is a free browser game that asks you to find the world's 195 countries on a blank map: the 193 UN member states plus Vatican City and Palestine. Each turn names a country and you click it; a wrong click highlights the right place. Practice mode brings missed countries back, and timed mode records your fastest round.
How to use it
- Choose a round
Play All 195 or a Quick 20 with countries drawn at random. Practice and Timed work with both.
- Find the named country
Click the country named above the map. Small island states have round markers you can tap.
- Zoom in for small places
Use the + and − buttons, pinch on a phone, or hold Ctrl and scroll. Drag to move around once you have zoomed in.
- Drill your mistakes
At the end you see your score, your time and everything you missed. Press Practice the ones you missed to replay only those.
Limits and notes
- The quiz asks the 193 UN member states plus the two UN observer states. Kosovo, Taiwan and Western Sahara are drawn hatched and are not asked.
- Borders come from Natural Earth (1:50m) and are simplified for a world-sized map, so small coastal details are smoothed out and the smallest states appear as markers.
- Scores and best times are kept only in this browser. Clearing site data resets them.
