What it does
The Oceania Map Quiz is a free browser game that asks you to find the 14 independent countries of Oceania on a map of the western and central Pacific. Each turn names a country and you click it; small island nations have round markers so they are easy to tap. Practice mode repeats your misses, and timed mode records your best time.
How to use it
- Find the named country
Click the country named above the map. Every island nation smaller than a few pixels has a round marker on its main islands.
- Zoom in for small places
Use the + and − buttons, pinch on a phone, or hold Ctrl and scroll. Drag to move around once you have zoomed in.
- Drill your mistakes
At the end you see your score, your time and everything you missed. Press Practice the ones you missed to replay only those.
Limits and notes
- Territories such as Hawaii, New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Guam belong to other countries; they are drawn as background and not asked.
- Kiribati and Fiji lie on both sides of the 180° meridian; the map is centred on the Pacific so they are not split.
- Scores and best times are kept only in this browser. Clearing site data resets them.
